The Zimbali Lakes Resort master developers today announced the planned construction of a state-of-the-art Sports Club & Leisure Centre.  This world-class facility will be situated within the Zimbali Lakes Resort residential development near Ballito on KZN’s North Coast. The plans include a sports club with wide ranging facilities specifically designed to complement the surrounding landscape.

This announcement will be a welcome surprise for both Zimbali Lakes’ residents and investors as news of this facility has come much sooner than originally planned, according to Wayne Krambeck Senior Vice-President Operations – Zimbali Lakes Resort.

“The number of sales of free-standing residential and sub-development PUD sites to date has been unprecedented. The pace at which the properties have been snapped up in Phases 1, 2 and 3 has accelerated the need to create a combined sports club and leisure facility that will meet the needs of the Phase 1 residents who will move onto the estate in early 2023. Phase 2 to follow soon thereafter.

To date we have released 1771 opportunities to the market. There are only 84 opportunities left to sell of which 44 are in our newly released Phase 3 with elevated sea, lake and golf course views.

“We believe that the Zimbali Lakes Sports Club will add an immense amount of value to the estate and enhance the residents’ lifestyle beyond measure.  We have yet to come across another sports club and leisure facility with the number of different sporting facilities situated in one precinct that we envisage this centre will have”, says Krambeck. The architectural renderings and topographical drawings of the proposed Zimbali Lakes Sports Club, illustrate that the 7000m2 sports “precinct” will boast world-class facilities to cater for the different sporting and leisure needs of the diverse Zimbali Lakes community.

However, the master developer’s greater vision is that the sports centre could become home to various sporting academies and activities including, but not limited to tennis, cricket, volleyball, rugby, paddle-courts, a fitness centre, swimming pools and kids playgrounds. In essence, the sports club will offer leisure facilities for the whole family.

The Zimbali Lakes Sports Club will be built in phases with preparatory works planned to commence during the first half of 2023, and is scheduled to open at the same time as the magnificent 18-holf golf course in 2024.  Work on the golf course is well under way with 9 holes already sculptured out of this beautiful landscape many will soon call home.
